It’s time for new full-time undergraduate students to apply for student finance!
Let your students know that it’s quick and easy to apply online – they just need to follow these simple steps:
- Register online – students need to create an account at gov.uk/studentfinance
- Fill in the application –they’ll need their passport, bank details and National Insurance number. Students don’t need a confirmed place at university or college before they apply. They can apply using their first choice and change their details later if they need to.
- Provide evidence – make sure students know that they need to provide any evidence we ask for. If they don’t, it could delay their application.
Undergraduate part-time and postgraduate full-time and part-time applications will open in the summer. Full-time undergraduate EU applications will open at the end of April.
Continuing students can also now reapply by logging into their online account.
New students should apply before the deadline of 21 May. Continuing students should apply by 25 June.
It can take up to 6 weeks to process their application, so encourage students to apply early to make sure they get their student finance in time for starting their course. It will take them around 30 minutes to complete their application.
Students can get lots of key information by visiting our dedicated page on Gov.
