Students thinking about starting a part-time course in 2018/19 can now apply for student finance. It’s quick and easy for them to apply online at www.gov.uk/studentfinance

New part-time students starting a course on or after 1 August 2018 will now be able to get a Maintenance Loan to help with the living costs as well as a Tuition Fee Loan.

The amount of Maintenance Loan a student can get depends on where they live, where they study, and how many credits they study. Students will need to let us know how many credits they’re studying when they apply. If they’re not sure, they should check this with their uni or college.

If a student is studying a part-time distance learning course the'll only be able to get a Maintenance Loan if they're studying long distance because they have a disability.

Continuing students who started a part-time course on or after 1 September 2012 can also apply now. Continuing students who started their course before 1 September 2012 will get an email from us to let them know when it’s time to reapply.

Students from the EU wanting to study a part-time course in England can now apply for a Tuition Fee Loan.
