Repayment thresholds change

On the 6 April 2018 the repayment threshold for some student loans changed.

 

Plan 2 Loans

The repayment threshold for Plan 2 loans (English or Welsh students who started their undergraduate course on or after 1 September 2012) is now £25,000 a year, £2,083 a month or £480 a week.

 

Plan 1 Loans

The repayment threshold for Plan 1 student loans (English or Welsh students who started their undergraduate course before 1 September 2012, or Scottish/Northern Irish students) is now £18,330 a year, £1,527 a month or £352 a week.

 

Postgraduate Loan (from Student Finance England or Student Finance Wales)

The repayment threshold is still £21,000 a year, £1,750 a month or £404 a week. Postgraduate Loans don’t come into repayment until 6 April 2019.

 

Mortgage Style Loans

From 1 September 2017 until 31 August 2018 the threshold for mortgage style loans is £29,219.
