Part-time Tuition Fee Loan

Fee Grant

Students who started their course before 1 September 2012 can apply for a Fee Grant to help towards the cost of the tuition fees charged by their university or college.

This grant doesn’t have to be repaid.

Fee Grants are only available to continuing students studying an eligible:

  • undergraduate course
  • Initial Teacher Training (ITT) course
  • Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE)

What's available

The amount of Fee Grant available depends on their:

  • household income
  • study intensity

The following table shows how much a student can get in academic year 2018/19 based on their household income and study intensity.

Students studying at a course intensity below 50% might still be able to get some Fee Grant.

How does a student apply?

Students reapplying for student finance will get an email from us with a link to the ‘Grant application form for continuing part-time students (PTGC)’. They can also download it from www.gov.uk/studentfinance

Students applying for the first time should download and complete a ‘Grant application form for part-time students’ from www.gov.uk/studentfinance
