Current students getting a Childcare Grant need to confirm their actual childcare costs or they might not get their next payment.

When students apply for a Childcare Grant, and at certain points throughout the year, they estimate how much they expect to pay for childcare. To make sure they're getting the right amount of money, they need to tell us exactly how much they are paying.

To do this, we send them a Childcare Costs Confirmation form. We'll have done this recently for students who started a course in September 2016, April 2017 or July 2017. Students who started a course in January 2017 will be asked to confirm their costs later in the academic year.

The Childcare Costs Confirmation form needs to be completed by the student and their childcare provider.

We'll use the information to make sure the student has been paid the right amount of Childcare Grant.

If they've been underpaid, they'll get what they're owed in their next payment, or as soon as possible if they're not due another payment. If they've been overpaid, we'll reduce the amount they get in their next payment or arrange another way for them to repay if they aren't due any more payments.

The student will be given a date by which to return the form. If they miss this deadline, their next Childcare Grant payment will be delayed. If they don't return their form, they'll lose their entitlement to Childcare Grant altogether and we'll ask them to repay any money they've already had.
